How do I choose the right bike-route for my fitness level?

Cycling Tours

Our routes are categorized by difficulty: we calculate all vertical variations during a stage. Normally the positive and negative variations are not extremely different from each other (Most often no more than 10%). Because in most of our tours there is much climbing followed by going down in a hilly terrain. We give the cumulativevariation of all elevation gains and losses which are much more than the the global elevation.

  • Very Easy: Up to 40km/day, flat or gently rolling terrain.These correspond to our very light bike tours.  All cumulative elevation gains of >0m : <300m per day
  • Easy: 40-60 km/day, some hills.These correspond to our light bike-tours. Cumulative elevation gains of >1m : max 800m per day
  • Moderate: 60-80 km/day, mountainous terrain.Cumulative elevation gains of >2m : max 1500m per day
  • Challenging:80-100 km/day, mountainous terrain.Cumulative elevation gains of >2m : 2000m and more per day


How do I choose the right hikefor my fitness level?

Walking Tours

Our routes are categorized by difficultyand length:

When is the best time to go cycling in France?

The best time depends on the region:

Avoid July-August in southern regions if you dislike heat.

How do I get to the starting point of the tour?

Most routes start near major transport hubs:

  • Provence: Fly to Marseille or Avignon, then take a train/bus.
  • Dordogne: Fly to Bergerac or Bordeaux, then transfer by train/taxi.
  • Grands Causses: Fly to Montpellier, then take a train to Millau.

Do I need to bring my own bike?

No! We offer high-quality rental bikes (hybrid, road, or e-bikes) included in most packages. If you prefer your own bike, we recommend bringing:

What should I pack for a cycling holiday?

How do I navigate the route?

We provide:
