You can start this tour any day of the week between April 15^th and October 30^th.
Start in Meyronne or Sarlat. If you want a rest day or staying an extra night in one of the hotels of the trip you can book extra nights in any hotel.

In 2012, the Dordogne river basin was recognized by UNESCO for its outstanding setting and natural heritage and added to the World Network of Biosphere Reserves.

Rising in the Massif du Sancy in Auvergne and emptying into the Gironde estuary near Bordeaux, the Dordogne crosses much of south-west France in a westerly direction.
Most famous are Medieval Sarlat UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE (in the heart of 'Perigord Noir'), the Gouffre du Padirac, the Caves of Lascaux and Rocamadour, a Renaissance style village built against the cliff and the area of the valleys of Dordogne and Vézère with prehistoric caves all over the place. In Sarlat enjoy the markets on saturday and wednesday and its galeries and shopping centre in the old city. Visit the cave of Lascaux and come back to the Dordogne valley. Rocamadour, the second pilgrim-tourist attraction of France with a beautiful small canyon of the Gorge de l'Ouysse and the beautiful Dordogne valley,

Find the cycling roads along the river Dordogne in the Quercy of Lot department alternated with the Causse du Quercy, a smooth limestone plateau with open scenery on top of the causse.

Rocamadour, the second pilgrim-tourist attraction of France with a beautiful small canyon of the Gorge de l'Ouysse emptying in the beautiful Dordogne valley, provides the scenery for a unforgettable biking tour.

You'll have plenty of time to visit Medieval villages like Souillac, Martel, Carennac and Rocamadour.

The nearest airport from UK to these walking tours is Brive (Ryanair).
Toulouse from other countries.
From London take TGV to Paris and train to Souillac or fly in to Toulouse
Train Toulouse-Souillac is a direct connection of almost 2 hours.

From North America best is to fly into Paris or to Toulouse.
Bus and train connection from Toulouse to Souillac

From Souillac back to Paris: leave at 07:05 or 09:03 or 13:10. Arrival in Paris after 4h30min.

From Paris at Gare du Nord you walk in 3 minutes to Metro line 5, direction Place d'Italie (Metro every 5 minutes or less). 14 minutes ride to Gare d'Austerlitz.
Walk 3 minutes to the trains.
Total 20 minutes from Gare du Nord
