Just to let you know we had an excellent cycle trip around Mt Ventoux, so thank you very much for organising the itinerary.

We really liked the Burrhus and the hotel at Aurel - the Relais.  We had lovely food at Aurel and attractive old rooms.  The other 2 hotels at Venasque and Buis les Baronnies were more tourist hotels and fine but I think we preferred the older ones!

The cycling was brilliant and our son and his girlfriend found plenty to use up their energies.  All the routes were interesting, scenic and not too busy with traffic.

I hope we will be back for more before too long.

Regards
Candy Eason

Bonjour Frans et Barbara.

Nancy and I returned home to Canada a few days ago and we want to thank you for helping to make our holidays in Provence so wonderful.

I have attached a few photos for both our hiking and cycling programs - hope you like them.

By the way, thanks for sending the "guide dog" for us when we started the hiking in Fontaine de Vaucluse (photo number 241).  He was very friendly and certainly knew the way to Gordes better than us, and he never once looked at the map!  And the fellow cyclist we met in Aurel (photo number 486) was very helpful with directions ... he sends his regards.

Sending you our very best wishes from Canada.

Au revoir, Al and Nancy McCalder

2011-2

Our cycling trip in the Drome and Haute Alps was just spectacular – thank you for putting this really amazing tour together for us.   The scenery of mountains and beautiful valleys and rivers was breathtaking.   The farms of grapes, apples, pears – were quiet and peaceful.   I just cant thank you enough for planning this trip of contrasts- little traffic magnificent villages – every day an adventure.   The hotels you chose were perfect.   The people in the hotels very helpful and friendly.   Our weather was just stunning.   The rides were challenging but we both just loved every minute.

Our tandem from Bedoin was exceptional – an excellent bike.   We chose to do the Ventoux to start our tour – just so exciting.   From there to St.Paul trois Chatteaux-Dieulefit-Umbleze – across Dentelles – Beautiful-  Die (Barnave) – so enjoyed this wonderful place. – across to Serres – lovely riding.   Gap(Haute Alps – picturesque) – worth the visit.  Tallard – Jose friendly and fun.  Sisteron (La Bonne Etape –excellent.   Forcalquier/Mane – quiet and friendly.   Sault – just loved it there too.  Saignon – what a quaint village.   The food right throughout was remarkable.   Wow! If I could I would do it all again just to appreciate how magnificent the country really is- really worth it on a bike.

Every day was magical – THANK  YOU  SO SO MUCH.

 Fond regards,

Just mention that it is a tour for keen cyclists who are fit!!!!

Hello,

We just wanted to thank you again for the lovely holiday. The walks were amazing, what a beautiful area!
The organisation was superb, the directions of the walks very clear and every place we stayed was lovely.
It was a real treat not to have to worry about anything and being spoiled like this after a long day of walking.

We also wanted to mention that the first place, B&B Casalys in Quillan, is highly recommendable, as we heard you normally arrange another place.
The house itself is charming, beautiful architecture and the people who run it, Guy and Marie, are very friendly and helpful.
A good start to the trip.

So, thanks very much again and we hope to do another trail again with you soon.

All the best,
Brian and Manon

Hello and greetings from Canada.

Dominique and I wanted to let you know that our hike in Corsica was extremely successful and we were very very happy with the way you organized things.  (Sorry it's taken us so long to get back to you). Your suggestions for extra nights in Sereria and Galeria were excellent as well your choices of gites along the way.  We are planning on doing Patagonia next year, but expect us to be back in touch with you soon for our next European hike.

All the best
Michael

Hello

I have been meaning to send you an email since we got home in August! We all enjoyed the bike trip very much and found that it was well organised for our small group. We had thought we would meet you at the end of the trip to say thank you and give some feedback.

M. Bazile was very helpful and his bikes were just fine for the trip- solid and dependable- we did not require any repairs at all. The itinerary was interesting and about the right distance- with the exception of the day you changed. We also liked all the accommodation- each place had charm and a warm welcome, with interesting food and wines. We particularly enjoyed La residence at St Antonin. Senouillac was also delightful. In Cordes they tried to give us a room with a small room incorporated that would have been suitable for a family with children, but not for 2 couples. In the end they offered the room at the top with a perilous stone staircase and a fabulous view.

It was a very good trip and we would recommend La ligne Verte to others.

Kind regards

Elspeth Humphries

Hello ... We have just arrived back at our home in Wisconsin since we did some other traveling after we left France.  I am writing to thank you for arranging the wonderful walk for us and also of course for your kindness in letting us reschedule it.  All of the accommodations were excellent, and we had a wonderful time.  We will be in touch when we have the chance to do some more traveling.

Thanks for everything,

Hi ,

We are back in the UK and I thought I would drop you a quick email to say thank you for the fantastic biking trip.  The scenery was amazing, the route selection had the perfect balance of flexibility and challenge and the accommodation was also spot on.  In particular, the staff at Hotel Toppin in Cavaillon made the trip.

In addition, I would like to thank you for your help following the crash we had – you were very helpful and we found all the hotel staff went out of their way to arrange relevant hospital and dentist appointments.

If we get the chance again we will definitely drop you a line to help plan another amazing trip.

Thanks again!

Josh

Hi
Just a short message to thank you for arranging a memorable trip for us.  The countryside and villages were beautiful.  Some of our group found the hills at times a bit of a struggle, and the one day when we had to cycle over 80km was too long, but looking back it was a wonderful holiday.  We will certainly recommend it to friends.

Mr Basile who supplied the cycles did a good job, we had no punctures, and the cycles were in good condition.

Each of the hotels had its own charms, but we especially liked the two with swimming pools.  And the trip along the river valley from St Sernin sur Rance to Albi was very beautiful.

All the food was reasonably good, and the meals at Najac and St Sernin especially good.  All the hotel owners were very welcoming and keen that we should recommend them to you.

Just a short note to thank you for a very enjoyable holiday.

All the arrangements were perfect and I enjoyed the routes.  I tried to do the longer, and hillier(!), options most days, and the scenery on them was wonderful.

As far as the hotels were concerned the food was excellent - had it not been for the cycling I am sure I would have put on a lot of weight!

Meeting you was an added pleasure - which helped compensate for the wet weather that day!

Again very many thanks - I hope to be able to contact you again at some future date.

Larry walked the H33 from Albi to St.Affrique and back to Albi.

Hi - Again, I only have praise for this absolutely AWESOME!! cycle tour - each stage was magnificent.   From Avignon to Venasque and into the northern foothills of Ventoux to Buis les Barronies and over to Sault (via Col de Fontaube) - we then chose to go " up and over" Ventoux....just amazing....(challenging on tandem) to Vaisson.   From there a total contrast (beautiful)- made our way to Chateauneuf-du-pape - Uzes to Frezzac (Cevennes)-  on to Montpellier- and the sea-side resort of Ste Marie de la Mer (Carmague with white horses and black bulls).   Making our way back and stopping over at wonderful hotel in St Remy - this was a real treat.

Hotels were excellent with very friendly staff - some - with a welcoming swimming pool.  Food was outstanding everywhere.

Thank you so much for organising a superb cycling holiday - loved everyday many happy memories and much fun

Fond regards - Bert and Carol Bard (Johannesburg, South Africa). Carol and Bert made a 15 days luxury cycling tour in Provence and Langedoc. (Their fifth bike tour with La Li gne Verte!)

Hi,

This is just a short mail to thank you for organising such a stunning
cycling trip for Karen and myself.

Everything worked out perfectly. The weather was superb, the scenery was
fantastic, the cycling was challenging but very enjoyable, and the
organisation behind the scenes was very slick.

We are already dreaming about when we can do it all again.

This thank-you note is long overdue.  Judy and I wanted to drop you a short note and say that we had a great time touring the Southern Rhone in France and want to thank you for the very important part you played in making that happen.  There were 9,999 things that needed to go right for our trip to be a success and you brought them all together.  In no particular order some of the highlights of our trip include;

  • Olivier Hickman the wine tour guide you directed us to was great, knew his stuff well and really opened our eyes and ears to the wonderful world of wine
  • The bikes from Cyclix worked out excellent, and Phillippe made a special trip late on the Sunday night to install the pedals with clips for us.  First class effort and we appreciated it very much.
  • Getting our luggage moved from place to place without incident was something we counted on and thank-you for making it happen.
  • The rooms and meals were great, we especially liked the ambience, room, location and staff at Hostellerie le Beffroi that was our favourite and most memorable spot.  The hostess with smiling eyes at Le Relais du Mont Ventoux made us feel welcome, the Auberge du Vieux village d'Aubres was almost empty but we were treated very well and enjoyed the fantastic location with incredible views. The host and hostess – Christine and Patrice at Le Prèsbytère (Saignon) were very special, they invited us for dinner at their home when the restaurant arrangements didn’t work out.

Attached is a picture that we took when one day at Hostellerie le Beffroi we decided to challenge Mount Ventoux.  What a thrill, we were tired for days afterward but it was something we will never forget.
Thanks ever so much for looking after us and allowing us to have a memorable and successful 20th anniversary vacation.

Now – in 2008 we are wondering if there are other trips that you might be able to arrange, another cycling trip that would offer a similar experience based on Bordeaux or Burgundy?  Please tell us what options you have that we might be interested in.

One of the things that we really appreciated apart from the French environment, the scenery and wines was that in France cyclists have - or more importantly are given the right of way.  NOT SO in Toronto, a cyclist feels like a target!

We write to let you know that we made it back to the States, and to thank you for a wonderful experience.  All of the hotels and meals were fantastic.  Our bikeride into Nimes was a great day- a tailwind blew us into the city quickly.  I hope our bike boxes didn't cause you too much trouble.  The airline in Rome also found them troublesome.  Please keep us in mind if you decide to travel to New York.

Best wishes- Rebecca and Sal

Hi Frans and Francine,
An amazing 13 -Stage cycle tour- thank you for planning this tour of incredible contrasts -
In Provence - loved the ancient villages of Avignon,Gordes,Venasque and Vaison le Romaine.
We cycled up the Mont Ventoux (from Malaucene) - What an amazing experience that was.
Descended down to Sault (hotel great!) - then through Gorges de la Nesque and in to the Luberon (Saignon & Les Baux)
Our stay in Fressac was very memorable with Luke and Delilah in their stunning home in a secluded valley.
Onto Chateaux Madieries (Charming).   Big challenge through the Cirque de Navacelles (Cevennes Mnts) -indescribably beautiful.
Then the Chateau Ayres  (Meyruis) and Chateau de la Caze- in the Gorges du Tarn - Riding alongside Jonte and Tarn rivers.(Splendid!)
Heading back through Millau, Madieries, Nimes to Avignon
Our rooms were exceptional- the french food superb in those majestic diningrooms. (especially in the Chateau's)
The cycling was challenging- and exhilerating- MEMORIES  FOREVER!!
So good to see you both again.
A  CYCLE TOUR OF A LIFETIME!!! -
