Travelling to Provence

1. From Marseille airport Marignane: take the shuttle bus to the railway station of Marseille (€ 7; 30 minutes) for a train change to Cavaillon, l'Isle sur la Sorgue or Avignon. (1h30).

There is a direct train that connects the airport to Avignon centre. You will find the timetable at http://www.marseille.aeroport.fr/fra/acces/acces_pvv.jsp . You must buy your ticket at the airport, at one of the machines that sell train tickets (“bornes SNCF”), and show that ticket to the driver of the shuttle bus which leaves the airport 10mn before the train departure time. The train station is apparently just opposite the airport, but cannot be reached on foot really.

2. Take the direct bus connection to Aix-en-Provence (0h30).

1) Go to Paris, Gare de Lyon (45 minutes). There you will take the TGV-train to Avignon (about 4 hours)
