: Vaucluse, Mont Ventoux and Luberon. Start in Avignon.

5, 6, 7 or 8 days, starting in Avignon. The Mont Ventoux in Vaucluse and Drome departments will be your campanion all along your trip. This huge mountain hides splendid places. Provencal villages as well as beautiful nature. This cycling tour is medium or heavy if you would choose to climb the Mont Ventoux. Les Dentelles de MontmirailAvignon the cultural center of Provence, (street)theatre, music, a place of and for artists. Vaison-la- Romaine (60,000 Romans lived there 2000 years ago as you will see by yourself). Vaison has a medieval old city and famous market on tuesday morning. You be cycling through Cote du Rhone Villages-wineyards all along your trip north of the Mont Ventoux. You will cycle the canyon of the Gorges de la Nesque at the Southern side of the Mont Ventoux. You'll visit Abbaye de Senanque. On last day you will bike to the Luberon and see the famous surging river Fontaine de Vaucluse where Petrarca  wrote his poems.

The 6 day tours can be a light tour, the 7 & 8 day tours are "active' or "sporting" tours.
Shower/bath in room (en suite).

Starting days : any day of the week from April till November.
Starting place: Avignon.

If you are flying in to Marseille you can take a train to Avignon at the railway station of Vitrolle near the airport. It is only 90 minutes from the Airport of Marseille to Avignon.

If you rent a bike, cycling starts on day 2.

Start and end in Avignon. Starting day: any day of the week. You can take the train or taxi (20km) from Avignon or from Marseille to travel directly to Cavaillon if you don't want to stay a night in Avignon.

Train & Bus  From Marseille Airport to Luberon and Avignon in Provence
  • Take the shuttle bus to SNCF railway station of Vitrolles Aeroport Marseille.
    Bus leaves every 20 minutes and it takes 5 minutes to arrive.
  • Here take a train ticket to Avignon or Cavaillon.
    On all days of the week you'll have 4 opportunities between 12:00 and 20:00 to go to Avignon
    (in 1hr 25 min) or to Cavaillon (in 55 min).
